Pierce Brosnan to Star in A&E's Bag of Bones

Pierce Brosnan

Pierce Brosnan has signed on to play protagonist Mike Noonan in A&E's adaptation of Stephen King's beloved 1998 supernatural, midlife crisis novel Bag of Bones. The four-hour "mini-series" is set to air in two parts sometime during the last quarter of this year.

Plans for The Dark Tower film trilogy and TV series canceled

The story concerns Noonan, an author with writer's block who is grieving the death of his wife and, perhaps not shocking for a King story, confronted with ghostly visitations.

Is Stephen King heading to The Walking Dead?

Mick Garris, who's handled TV adaptations of King's The Stand, Desperation, and The Shining, as well as theatrical release Sleepwalkers, is set to direct. The script was adapted by Matt Venne (Mirrors 2), and Anabeth Gish (Pretty Little Liars) will also star. More cast members are expected to be announced shortly.
