Phillip Phillips' Mother Arrested for DUI

Phillip Phillips' mother Sheryl Phillips was arrested for a DUI on Wednesday, TMZ reports.

According to police, an undercover unit saw Phillips swerving across lanes of traffic in Albany, Ga. The American Idol winner's mother failed the field sobriety test the officers administered and was taken into custody. The officers suspected that in addition to alcohol, she might have been under the influence of drugs as well. They transferred Phillips to a hospital where doctors decided she was healthy enough to go to jail.
Phillip has had very public issues with his family. In Novemeber, he refused to help his parents out financially and they were forced to sell their family-owned pawn shop.
