Did Oh Sit! hit the fans? Final ratings for the new CW competition series' Wednesday night premiere will be out later today, but the network already plans to air episode two of Oh Sit! tonight at 8/7c (leading into the series premiere of the new singing competition The Next). Oh Sit! — which was originally titled Extreme Musical Chairs, until The CW decided to have some fun with the title — centers on 12 contestants who go through a series of physically challenging obstacle courses to order to claim a chair (as a live band performs). The last player on a chair wins a cash prize. Jamie Kennedy hosts, along with Jessi Cruickshank, with Tanika Ray as the sidelines reporter. Executive producer Phil Gurin (The Singing Bee, Shark Tank) took time to fill out our TV Guide Magazine showrunner survey and explain why Oh Sit! happens.

TV Guide Magazine: I've got room in my life to watch just one more show. Tell me why it should be yours.

Phil Gurin: Who doesn't want to see grown men and women running around in spandex, clocking each other and nearly drowning?

TV Guide Magazine: Who should be watching?

Gurin: Anyone who ever lost a game of musical chairs as a child and is still dealing with the emotional scarring.

TV Guide Magazine: What happens if we don't watch your show?

Gurin: You will miss out on the next viral watercooler show. At least I hope so.

TV Guide Magazine: Give us an equation for your show.

Gurin: Oh Sit! equals Roller Derby plus American Gladiators plus Revenge of the Nerds times every Japanese game show, divided by Top of the Pops.

TV Guide Magazine: What's the best thing anyone has said or written about your show?

Gurin: Would you please fill out this survey for TV Guide Magazine?

TV Guide Magazine: What's the worst thing?

Gurin: "It's been 60 some-odd years of television and I hope you've enjoyed it, because it will soon be over." Wait, that's a pretty good thing to say about our little show...

TV Guide Magazine: Who was right?

Gurin: Let's wait and see.

TV Guide Magazine: What's an alternate title for your show?

Gurin: Extreme Musical Chairs.

TV Guide Magazine: Come up with a premise for the obvious Oh Sit! spin-off, What the Fudge?

Gurin: Twelve hungry contestants bake brownies in the dark while being chased by snakes and mice.

TV Guide Magazine: What don't we know about your host, Jamie Kennedy?

Gurin: He has good taste in shoes, and is kind to all living things.

TV Guide Magazine: What credit of yours would you prefer we forget?

Gurin: I love all of my children, separately, but equally.

TV Guide Magazine: If you weren't running your own production company, what series would you most like to work on?

Gurin: Homeland. Law & Order: SVU.

TV Guide Magazine: How will your show change the face of TV as we know it?

Gurin: The power of the medium is reinforced when you realize that all the world's problems can be solved by plopping your ass in a chair.

Oh Sit! airs Wednesdays and Thursdays at 8/7c on The CW.
