Twilight's Peter Facinelli Files for Divorce From Jennie Garth

Peter Facinelli has taken the next step to ending his marriage to Beverly Hills 90210 star Jennie Garth.
The Twilight actor filed for divorce in L.A. County Superior Court on Wednesday, TMZ reports.

The documents list New Year's Day as their date of separation and cites "irreconcilable differences" for the split. The actor is also seeking joint physical and legal custody of their three daughters: Luca, 14, Lola, 9, and Fiona, 5.
In an interview with People, Garth said that Facinelli, whose career was taking off from the Twilight film series and Showtime's Nurse Jackie, wanted the divorce initially. "I was very resistant," she told the magazine. "I didn't want it to happen. It took me some time to come to peace with it."
Garth has filed her own response to the divorce petition, requesting that her name legally revert back to Jennifer Garth instead of Jennifer Facinelli.
Facinelli, 38, and Garth, 39, met on the set of the 1996 TV movie An Unfinished Affair and wed in 2001. Garth was previously married to musician Daniel Clark from 1994 to 1996.
