Friday Night Lights' Peter Berg Joins Prime Suspect as Maria Bello's Ex

Friday Night Lights executive producer Peter Berg is joining Prime Suspect — in front of the camera, according to Entertainment Weekly.
Berg, 47, will appear in one episode as Dan Costello, a married deputy chief who had an affair with Maria Bello's Jane. Rumors of their fling are now causing others to raise eyebrows at Jane's promotion to homicide.

Berg, who's best known on-screen for the film The Last Seduction and as Dr. Billy Kronk on Chicago Hope, last showed off his acting chops in a 2008 episode of Friday Night Lights.
Prime Suspect premieres Thursday at 10/9c on NBC.
