Ryan Murphy sure has a thing for singers.
The Glee and American Horror Story co-creator has tapped legendary diva Patti LaBelle for a four-episode arc on AHS: Freak Show, TVLine.com reports.
LaBelle will play the mother of Gabourey Sidibe's character and a local townsperson who begins to discover the murderous secrets of Twisty the clown killer. Season 4 of AHS will focus on the last freak show in America circa 1952.
Returning summer shows: Where we left off
LaBelle is not the first songstress to appear on the FX anthology series. Stevie Nicks appeared in two episodes of American Horror Story: Coven last year. In addition to returning stars Jessica Lange, Sarah Paulson, Kathy Bates, Angela Bassett, Evan Peters and Frances Conroy, Michael Chiklis, Wes Bentley and John Carroll Lynch will make their debuts.
LaBelle's acting credits include A Different World, The Nanny, Cosby and most recently, 2011's Mama, I Want to Sing!
