Patrick Swayze Wraps Filming on New TV Show

Patrick Swayze's progress in his cancer treatment is something to celebrate, but Sunday night the cause for celebration was wrapping filming on his new TV show, The Beast.

Swayze actually filmed his last scene Monday, but the Dirty Dancing star and his wife turned up at the wrap party at Chicago hot spot Underground on Sunday, according to Us.

Swayze drank cosmos and chatted with cast members and fans before leaving the party after almost two hours. When the actor was first diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in January, few thought a night on the town like that would be possible.

Swayze told the NewYork Times in his first interview since being diagnosed that he enjoyed working, despite his painful treatments. "I just love to work hard," he said about his 12-hour days on set. ""I'm still fine to work. I haven't changed — oh, I have changed, what am I saying? It's a battle zone I go though. Chemo, no matter how you cut it, is hell on wheels."

Costar Kevin O'Connor was amazed by Swayze's efforts. "He has so much energy that you don't think about his health," O'Connor told Us. "In fact, I look a lot more tired than Patrick does, some of the other crew members look a lot more tired than Patrick... and I mean that, too, which is weird."

The Beast premieres on A&E on Jan. 15.
