As if the Braverman clan wasn't big enough already, Frances Sternhagen has been cast as Zeek Braverman's mom on Parenthood, TVLine reports.
True Blood's Courtney Ford heads to Parenthood
A casting call for the part describes her as a sassy and emotionally inaccessible woman who has a complicated relationship with Zeek (Craig T. Nelson). However, viewers will get a glimpse at her softer side when the entire family comes together to celebrate her 86th birthday. The episode will air early next year.
Sternhagen, a two-time Tony winner, is best known for her roles as Cliff's mom on Cheers, Charlotte's mother-in-law, Bunny, on Sex and the City and, most recently, Brenda's mom on The Closer.
