Sarah Palin fired back at Family Guy after the series' most recent episode indirectly mocked her youngest child, Trig Palin. She called the scene "another kick in the gut" on her Facebook page.
The episode, which aired Sunday, grabbed headlines after Chris' date, a teenager Stewie calls "Down syndrome girl," tells him that her mother is the former governor of Alaska. Palin's 22-month-old son also has Down syndrome.

Palin labeled her Facebook note, posted late Monday, "Fox Hollywood: What a Disappointment," apparently differentiating the network from Fox News Channel, her newest employer. The 2008 Republican vice presidential candidate kept her comments on the episode brief but included a statement from her daughter, Bristol Palin.
"Are there any limits to what some people will do or say in regards to my little brother or others in the special-needs community?," the younger Palin wrote. "If the writers of a particularly pathetic cartoon show thought they were being clever in mocking my brother and my family yesterday, they failed. All they proved is that they're heartless jerks."

Family Guy creator/executive producer Seth MacFarlane responded to Sarah and Bristol Palin's remarks with a terse statement: "From its inception, Family Guy has used biting satire as the foundation of its humor. The show is an 'equal-opportunity offender.'"
Earlier this month, Palin used Facebook to chide White House chief of staff Rahm Emanuel for his use of the word "retarded."
