PaleyFest Fall Preview: No Ordinary ABC Night
No Ordinary Family
On September 14 stars and producers of ABC's fall shows came out for the PaleyFest: Fall TV Preview Party, sponsored by TV Guide Magazine and we got the scoop from their upcoming seasons.
Stephen Collins, now a series regular on ABC's new dramedy No Ordinary Family, told TV Guide Magazine that he's excited about his upcoming guest spot on Brothers & Sisters as Saul's love interest, Charlie. "They asked me to do an episode. I really like the show a lot, and I've been friends with Ron Rifkin for over 20 years. When you get a chance to work with people that you really love and respect, you just do it," says the actor, whose episode is scheduled for October 17. "It will probably play with the heads of the right fringe of the 7th Heaven fans. Hopefully they'll survive. Although the far-right fringe of the 7th Heaven fans are probably not tuning in much to Brothers & Sisters anyway."
The Middle creator Eileen Heisler also revealed another guest star heading to the Heck household for the Thanksgiving episode. "We have Norm MacDonald, who will be joining us as Mike's brother," Heisler says. "It's a fun family episode, introducing a little more of Mike's family and how families handle holidays differently. We had a great time with Norm."
And after two seasons of the heavy CBS drama Close to Home, Jennifer Finnigan is now thrilled to go to the set of her new sitcom Better With You and laugh for hours on end. While she's happy to cull inspiration for her character from her own relationship, don't expect her real-life marriage to Jonathan Silverman to ever end up on television. "People have [suggested] it before because we're silly with each other, and we have a repartee, but no. Listen, the kind of reality TV we watch is almost at times depressing, so I don't think it's for us," she says. "The idea of displaying our relationship is daunting. And I don't think it can be advantageous for any relationship."
