Tito Ortiz and Jenna Jameson

Hours after his release on bail on a felony domestic violence charge, Tito Ortiz denied assaulting girlfriend Jenna Jameson and claimed the retired porn star is addicted to OxyContin.

"Jenna has been fighting a battle with OxyContin addiction for the past year. For Tito and her family, this has been an uphill battle. Unfortunately, this morning Jenna relapsed, and suffered the consequences of that," Ortiz's attorney, Chip Matthews, said at a news conference in North Hollywood Monday evening, with a visibly upset Ortiz at his side. "We're here because Tito was trying to help her. ... I want to be quite clear. Tito Ortiz never laid a hand on Jenna. Never."

Ortiz (real name: Jacob Christopher Ortiz) was arrested Monday afternoon on suspicion of domestic violence at the Huntington Beach, Calif., home he shares with Jameson and their 1-year-old twin sons. He was released after posting $25,000 bail.

"My parents have gone through an addiction, and I'm seeing a mirror of that," the former UFC champ said at the news conference. "I hold everything dear to my heart that Jenna will be OK."

Jameson, wearing a brace around her right elbow, denied abusing drugs and told TMZ that Ortiz's claim was a "very, very desperate" tactic in "trying to save his career."

She said Ortiz threw her in a bathtub and tore two ligaments in her shoulder.

Lt. Mike Reynolds of the Huntington Beach Police Dept. told TVGuide.com that the name of the accuser in Ortiz's case is not being released, but that there was one "visible injury" on the victim, which met the standard for an arrest.

Matthews said Ortiz, 35, confronted Jameson Monday morning about drugs he had found, but she "denied it" and had an "emotional breakdown over it." He said Jameson suffered only a "scratch on her elbow."

Jameson's father, Larry, told TMZ outside of Ortiz and Jameson's home Monday that he called 911 and that Jameson has gotten a restraining order against Ortiz.

Though Larry Jameson called police, Matthews said Jameson's family sided with Ortiz after learning of his daughter's possible drug abuse. "Jenna's family, Tito's family, their friends have all been very supportive of Jenna through this entire ordeal, and we are asking for your continued support right now," he said.
