One Million Moms "Moving On" From Fight Against Ellen DeGeneres' JC Penney Ads

Ellen DeGeneres

Conservative group One Million Moms resurrected its fight against JC Penney's this week, slamming the retailer again for using Ellen DeGeneres in holiday ads. But just as quickly as the organization raised its protest flag, it lowered it again.

"A new JCP ad features Ellen and three elves," the group posted on its website Tuesday, according to NBC's Today show. "JCP has made their choice to offend a huge majority of their customers again. Christians must now vote with their wallets."

The organization has called on its followers to boycott JC Penney's since February, accusing the retail chain of jumping on the "pro-gay bandwagon" by hiring DeGeneres.

But by Friday afternoon, the post had been taken down.

On Thursday, OMM Director Monica Cole told The Christian Post, "We're not taking action, we're moving on. We've already contacted the company."

Cole added that the organization's problem was not with the content of the ad, which features DeGeneres making cheesy size puns while sitting at a table with a group of elves, but rather "the agenda behind it."

JC Penney and DeGeneres have not commented.
