Exclusive Once Upon a Time Video: King George Goes After David!

Once Upon a Time

As if Once Upon a Time's David didn't have enough going on with his wife and daughter missing, now his sworn enemy King George (Alan Dale) is coming back on Sunday's episode — and he's back with a vengeance.

"King George comes to Storybrooke and he's obviously very hurt and very angry at Charming and wants revenge on him for basically ruining his life," Josh Dallas tells TVGuide.com. To recap: King George enlisted David — in a Prince and the Pauper style story — to take the place of his son in order to marry King Midas' daughter and obtain all his gold. Now King George will attempt to run David's name through the mud and turn the people of Storybrooke against their "prince.

Mega Buzz: What's next for Emma's baby daddy?

"He wants to out David," Dallas continues. "But I don't think David really cares that he's going to go around and say that David's not really a prince because I don't think that's what David's about. He's always been that everyman. He's always been a guy from the earth who has values and who just tries to do the right thing, which was the total opposite to David Nolan last season. I don't think that part really bothers him; what bothers him is he's trying to hurt a friend of his."

That friend is Ruby (Meghan Ory), who will find herself at odds with the town of Storybrooke after one of its residents is viciously murdered during the full moon. Naturally, she'll be suspect No. 1. "I love the relationship between David and Ruby, or Charming and Red, because it's a relationship that you don't see a lot on television where it's not a romantic one between a man and a woman. It's a pure friendship. Of course, this is where King George is trying to get the town to turn against David and goes after her, so David tries to protect her.

Once Upon a Time's trip to the past helps with Emma's giant predicament

While some townsfolk will get whipped up in a frenzy, both because of Ruby's wolf issues and David's true identity, Dallas says this episode will be a turning point of sorts for David. "What's great about this season for a lot of the characters, in particular David and Regina [Lana Parrilla], [is] there's this whole idea of redemption," Dallas says. "I think he's going to get a lot of opportunities to hopefully right some of the wrongs that David Nolan created in the first season."
