The U.S., the Vancouver silver medalists, will at best have to settle for a bronze after yet another loss to Canada in the semis. Fun fact: It has only won bronze once, back in 1936. Finland has won three bronzes in its Olympic history — all since 1994, including in 2010.

Steve Holcomb & Co. will commence their title defense after ending a 62-year gold-medal drought for the Americans in Vancouver. Holcomb, who ended another 62-year medal dry spell by winning bronze in the two-man with Steve Langton, teamed with BMW to build a custom speed demon sled for the Olympics. Reigning world champ and World Cup season winner Marcel Hirscher of Austria is the favorite in the final alpine skiing event. 2010 silver medalist and perpetual bridesmaid Ivica Kostelic will be hungry for gold after becoming the first person to win three straight silvers when he finished second yet again in the super combined last week.
