It's Official — SVU Will Be Back! But...

Law & Order: Special Victims Unit has officially been renewed, TVGuide.com has confirmed. "I'm thrilled that SVU will be back for an 11th season," said series creator Dick Wolf in a statement.
Hooray! Except... there's still no word on whether Mariska Hargitay and Christopher Meloni have reupped their contracts with NBC. As we mentioned last week, it would be extremely unlikely that NBC would renew the show without first securing the continued participation of its stars.
Then again, what an interesting negotiation strategy it would be to let the actors know that the show will literally go on — with or without them. Stay tuned.
