Neither of them has been tapped as the comedy's new showrunner nor has a showrunner been named, but Forrester and Sterling are expected to fill the void left by former showrunner/executive producer Paul Lieberstein, who exited the show to develop the Dwight (Rainn Wilson) spin-off.

Forrester and Sterling previously worked with Office developer Greg Daniels on King of the Hill. With the spin-off in the works and Mindy Kaling's departure for her new Fox series, Daniels is planning a creative overhaul for Season 9, according to the site.

Forrester has been a consulting producer on The Office since Season 3 and has written for the show as well. Sterling currently serves as consulting producer on Girls.

The Office will return for its ninth season this fall on NBC.
