Melora Hardin, who played Michael Scott's girlfriend on The Office, has been tapped as the female lead in FX's drama pilot Lights Out, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Hardin will star opposite Holt McCallany, who plays Patrick "Lights Out" Leary. Leary is a former boxing champion who struggles to find himself and provide for his wife (Hardin), an orthopedic surgeon, and their daughters now that he's out of the ring.
He becomes a so-called legbreaker to collect gambling debts, but decides he needs one big payday after learning that he has pugilistic dementia (a neurological disorder stemming from multiple blows to the head).
Kevin Conway (The Black Donnellys, Oz) will play Leary's father and former trainer, while Elias Koteas (The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, The Haunting of Connecticut) will play his boyhood friend, who now serves as his manager.
In addition to her Lights Out casting, Hardin is appearing on the big screen in Hannah Montana: The Movie and 17 Again. Plus, Office fans should expect her back at Dunder Mifflin for at least one episode next season.
Could Lights Out pack a dramatic punch?
