Oscar winner Octavia Spencer is showing off her figure after losing 20 pounds.

"My weight has always been a struggle for me," Spencer says on the website for Sensa, for which she is a spokesperson. Sensa is a powder-like dieting product that is sprinkled on food like salt or pepper to help suppress appetite.

"If you tell me I can't eat something, I'll obsess over it and end up overeating!" she continues. "So whenever I would try to lose weight on one of those restrictive diets, I would just end up gaining the weight right back."

Spencer says she has been eating less and living healthier in the five months since she started shedding the pounds, but doesn't plan to go too extreme in her dieting plans. "I know I'm never going to be one of those size 2 actresses — that's just not me," she says "But I do want to be the healthiest I can be, and a role model to women of all shapes and sizes."

Spencer, who received an Academy Award in 2012 for her performance in The Help, will next be seen in the summer drama Fruitvale Station.
