No Plans for Oprah Winfrey's "Favorite Things" Episode This Season

Thanksgiving is a time for turkey, black Friday sales and — usually — The Oprah Winfrey Show's "Favorite Things" episode.

But a week after Winfrey announced plans to end her talk show in 2011, a Harpo rep tells TVGuide.com that there are no plans to air the annual special this season.

Oprah Winfrey: Ending talk show "feels right in my bones"

The change of plans, first reported by The Huffington Post, ends a tradition that began in 2002 and grew to become one of the talk show host's most memorable episodes each year. Usually sometime around Thanksgiving, Winfrey would dedicate an entire show  to her favorite things and give every audience member the items on the list. Those in attendance have received treats ranging from Ralph Lauren sweaters and refrigerators to camcorders and notebook computers.

Much like other products endorsed on The Oprah Winfrey Show, many items featured on the "Favorite Things" episode surged in popularity.

There is no word on whether Winfrey plans to reprise the special for the final holiday season on The Oprah Winfrey Show.
