New Girl Casts Justified Alum to Play Nick's Mom

Just kidding (kind of). New Girl has cast Justified alum Margo Martindale to play Mrs. Miller in an upcoming Chicago-set episode of the Fox comedy, Entertainment Weekly reports.

In the episode, set to air in March, the entire gang travels to Nick's hometown of Chicago and meets his family. They are surprised to learn that Nick is the most responsible and mature member of his family. Martindale's character is described as hard-nosed and emotional and very skeptical about Jess as well as Jess' relationship with Nick.
Earlier this season, viewers got to meet Nick's con-artist dad, played by Law & Order's Dennis Farina.
Martindale won an Emmy in 2011 for her juicy Justified role. She guest-starred on Smash's Season 2 premiere and currently recurs on FX's The Americans.
