Nate Berkus may have won fame redesigning homes for Oprah Winfrey, but with his new spin-off talk show, he aims to prove he can do more.
"For me, I feel like I graduated from the best talk-show host school that has ever existed on the planet," Berkus told Zap2it. "I'm ready to do this on my own. I feel so good about the ideas we're going to do, what people are really going to see, how we're really going to be able to empower people to live better."

The show — which premiered Monday (check local listings) — will feature such segments as "Secrets to Buying Secondhand Online" and "Turning Family Finds into a Fortune," according to the show's website. Berkus will also welcome celebrity guests including Elizabeth Edwards, Dolly Parton, Julianne Moore, Jamie Lee Curtis and Kim Coles during premiere week.
Of course, Berkus will still do home redesigns, starting with a kitchen makeover contest using a new instant 3-D design studio.
Berkus has appeared on Oprah more than 80 times in the last eight years, conducting 127 home makeovers along the way.
