Fox is baking up a new comedy featuring American Pie star Natasha Lyonne. The actress, who guested last season on New Girl, has signed on to star in and produce a sitcom at the network.
Lyonne would lead the show as Stella, a woman fresh out of rehab and looking to start over as a sober young adult. Things get complicated, however, when she moves in with her conservative brother and his young family. The project is said to be loosely autobiographical for Lyonne, who has publicly struggled with addiction issues before recovering and returning to acting.
Lyonne earned raves early in her career for turns in features such as Everyone Says I Love You and Slums of Beverly Hills. More recently she guest starred on Weeds and Law & Order: SVU and appeared in the American Pie sequel American Reunion.
