Naomi Campbell Not Facing Charges After Driver Debacle

Naomi Campbell likely will not face criminal charges after her driver told police she assaulted him from the back seat of a SUV, The Associated Press reports.

According to the AP, after consulting with the Manhattan district attorney, police issued a harassment report, which doesn't carry any penalty since no officer witnessed the incident.

The 27-year-old driver decided not to file criminal charges, reports the AP, but it's unclear if he will pursue the matter in civil court.

Police said that early Tuesday, the driver claimed that Campbell hit him from behind and his head struck the steering wheel, which resulted in bruising under his eye. He pulled over to tell a traffic agent in midtown Manhattan who alerted the police, but Campbell was not at the scene upon arrival, police said.

Though Campbell has not spoken to police, her spokesman said she would cooperate with the authorities, reports the AP.

"There shouldn't be a rush to judgment," spokesman Jeff Raymond said. "Naomi will cooperate voluntarily, and there is more to the story than meets the eye."

Campbell has previously pleaded guilty to assaulting people hired to work for her.
