NCIS: Los Angeles Gets "Sneak Peek" on USA Network

Chris O'Donnell and LL Cool J

NBC Universal and CBS, which only recently engaged in a war of words over Medium's merits, apparently have not only buried the hatchet but even struck a cool little deal that involves the new NCIS.

NBCU's USA Network has claimed dibs on the two NCIS episodes that tee up the spin-off premiering this fall, NCIS: Los Angeles. "Legend, Part 1" and "Legend, Part 2" will air back-to-back Friday, June 19, starting at 9 pm/ET.

USA already carries NCIS repeats, but is never allowed a second window nearly this quickly. This particular arrangement was arrived at to help drive interest in the launch of the CBS series as well as afford USA a crack at fresher fare.

In the two-part backdoor pilot, Mark Harmon's Special Agent Gibbs and members of his NCIS team travel to Los Angeles to consult with Special Ops agents "G" Callen (played by Chris O'Donnell) and Sam Hannah (LL Cool J).

Joining O'Donnell and Cool J on the NCIS: LA cast are Peter Cambor, Daniela Ruah and the newly added Adam Jamal Craig (playing a new agent named Dominic Vaile). CSI alum Louise Lombard appeared in the "Legend" episodes as Agent Macy, but has since been dropped from the series.
