NBC Renews Office, Parks and Rec and Community
NBC has ordered new seasons of The Office, Parks and Recreation, and Community, the network announced on Thursday.

"I am so pleased to renew these three outstanding comedies which are all at the top of their game creatively," Bob Greenblatt, chairman of NBC Entertainment said in a statement. "The Office continues to fire on all cylinders on the most competitive night of television; Parks & Recreation has come into its own this season as the rightful companion to The Office; and Community is one of the freshest comedies on any network and a solid foundation for Thursday night."
The Office, currently in its seventh season, was widely expected to return, despite the departure of the show's star, Steve Carell.
Parks and Recreation, which stars Amy Poehler, began its third season after an extended hiatus in January. The premiere drew 6.2 million viewers and a series-high in the demo. Community has had lower numbers, but performs consistently against heavy hitters The Big Bang Theory and American idol.
NBC has already renewed fellow Thursday comedy 30 Rock, though the jury is still out on the futures freshman comedies Outsourced and Perfect Couples.
