Will Muppets Make a TV Comeback? NBC Buys Human-Puppet Comedy From Jim Henson Company

It's a good week to be a puppet.

Two days after The Muppets made a surprise appearance on Saturday Night Live and two days before the release of their latest feature film, NBC has bought a hybrid human-puppet comedy from The Jim Henson Company, Deadline reports.

The New Nabors follows a human family and the complications that ensue from living next door to a family of puppets. John Hoffman (Afterlife) and 30 Rock executive producer John Riggi will write the script, which they developed with Lisa Henson and The Jim Henson Company.

NBC most notably found great success mixing puppets and humans with the '80s family comedy, ALF.
