Grimm

NBC is showing confidence in Grimm. The network has picked up a full season of the new drama, and will try it out in the more competitive Thursday-at-10/9c timeslot on Dec. 8.

"We are very pleased to be making a full-season commitment for Grimm," NBC Chairman Robert Greenblatt said in a statement. "This series is turning the traditional procedural drama on its head and is attracting a loyal following for us on Friday nights. We love where it's going creatively and we're excited to deliver more episodes to our audience."

Grimm, which normally airs Fridays at 9/8c, has averaged 6.9 million viewers and a 2.3 rating in the adults 18-49 demographic.

Based on the classic Grimm's Fairy Tales, Grimm follows a Portland homicide detective (David Giuntoli) who discovers he comes from a line of criminal profilers in charge of keeping the balance between humans and the mythological creatures of the world.

Grimm is the first freshman drama pickup by NBC, which canceled The Playboy Club after three episodes and will shut down production on Prime Suspect once the remake has completed its original 13-episode order. NBC has already given pick-ups to first-year comedies Up All Night, Whitney and sophomore drama Harry's Law.
