BBC America Producing The Musketeers TV Remake
The Three Musketeers
The three musketeers will fight again — this time on the small screen.
BBC America and BBC One are teaming up to produce a TV adaption of the classic Alexandre Dumas novel, BBC America announced at the Television Critics Association fall TV previews Wednesday.

Titled simply The Musketeers, the series will be set in the 17th century and follow a band of brothers who are highly trained soldiers assigned to protect King and the country. The series will be written by My Week with Marilyn scribe Adrian Hodges. The 10 hourlong episodes are set to air in 2014.
"The series bristles with vivid escapism and heroic action adventure and is set to thrill audiences with cracking stories of the week," BBC America General Manager Perry Simon said in a statement.
The Three Musketeers was last adapted into a series in 1968, when Hanna-Barbera produced a cartoon version for NBC. There have also been more than 20 film versions of the story, including a 1969 TV movie starring Christopher Walken, the 1993 Disney film starring Charlie Sheen and Kiefer Sutherland and, most recently, the 2011 3D film with Christoph Waltz and Orlando Bloom.
