Contrary to her chart-topping song's lyrics, taking your money isn't the only thing that M.I.A. wants to do — being a mom might trump it.
The Sri Lankan artist confirmed to Pitchfork Saturday that she is, in her words, "creating a baby" with fiancé Ben Brewer. Pregnancy, though, isn't her only recent good news: M.I.A.'s single, "Paper Planes" is currently rocking pop radio rotations and sales charts.
"When I found out I was pregnant and "Paper Planes" was in the iTunes top 10," she said, "it seemed like the whole world was reshuffled in one week, and all my plans went out the window. And that's the lesson ... you can't make plans, and you can't say s--t."
Plus, the sassy singer/rapper had a message for her fans: "I got engaged first, then I got pregnant, kids." We hope they're listening — and rocking out.
