Is More Music in Jeff Bridges' Future?

Jeff Bridges

Jeff Bridges is finally getting the recognition many deem long overdue. And he's seen as the favorite in the Academy Award best-actor race for his work in Crazy Heart. So what's he thinking about? Music.

Bridges has already won a Golden Globe and Screen Actors Guild award for his portrayal of aging country musician Bad Blake in Crazy Heart and says the film has inspired him to ponder performing more music.

"Certainly playing with all those great musicians like T-Bone [Burnett] and Stephen Bruton was really a joy. I'm primed up to do some more music so I'm hoping that's in the cards," he said at the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences' nominee luncheon Monday.

Bridges who recently lent his voice to the "We Are the World 25 for Haiti" benefit single, said he would like to tour in the future.

However, the 60-year-old actor has put his musical ambitions on pause until after his next film — the Coen brothers' True Grit — which starts shooting next month. "After that, I'd like to get some music going," Bridges said.
