Syfy Adds a Monkee to Debbie Gibson-Tiffany Movie

Syfy has decided to up the ante in their Debbie Gibson-vs.-Tiffany movie by adding a Monkee, the network announced.
Mickey Dolenz, a member of the 1960s made-for-television band The Monkees, has been cast in Mega Python vs. Gatoroid, in which former '80s pop stars Gibson, 39, and Tiffany, 38, will face off. Dolenz will play a celebrity singer hired by Tiffany for her fundraiser to save the Everglades.

Dolenz has directed for TV and theater, and he most recently appeared in Rob Zombie's remake of Halloween.
Gibson, who starred in last year's Mega Shark Versus Giant Octopus, will play an animal-rights campaigner who frees exotic snakes from pet stores, allowing them to grow to mega sizes in the Everglades. Tiffany, who starred in Mega Piranha, will portray a park ranger trying to save endangered alligators. Oh, and they get into a fight in a swamp.
Mega Python vs. Gatoroid starts production this month and will premiere next year.
