Shohreh Aghdashloo has joined the cast of Fox's The Mob Doctor, TVGuide.com has confirmed.
The 24 alum will recur on the series as Dr. Jayana Baylor, a legendary cardiothoracic specialist who returns from an Oxford sabbatical in order to perform a groundbreaking procedure at Roosevelt Medical Center. Entertainment Weekly first broke the casting.
The Mob Doctor's antihero will cross the line
The series stars Jordana Spiro as a young female thoracic surgeon with roots in Bridgeport, Conn., where she juggles her career and her lifelong debt to the South Chicago mob, which is headed up by William Forsythe's Constantine.
Aghdashloo's other credits include ER, House and FlashForward.
The Mob Doctor premieres Monday, Sept. 17 at 9/8c on Fox.
