Mo’Nique

Oscar winner Mo'Nique will announce the Academy Awards nominations alongside Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences President Tom Sherak, the Academy announced Tuesday.

Mo'Nique and Sherak will announce nominations in 10 of the 24 categories in a live news conference on Jan. 25.

James Franco and Anne Hathaway to co-host Academy Awards

Mo'Nique won a best supporting actress Oscar last year for her work in Precious: Based on the Novel 'Push' by Sapphire. She currently hosts her own late-night talk show, The Mo'Nique Show, on BET.

AMPAS traditionally picks Oscar winners or nominees to announce the nominations. Last year's nominations were announced by former best actress nominee Anne Hathaway, who will co-host this year's ceremony with James Franco.

The 83rd Academy Awards airs live on Sunday, Feb. 27 at 8/7c on ABC.
