The 22-year-old Fredericksburg, Va., native, who succeeds Miss America 2009 Katie Stam, is an aspiring television news anchor.
Judges for the Miss America pageant — once one of the nation's highest-rated annual TV specials — included Rush Limbaugh, Vivica A. Fox, American Idol finalist Brooke White, comic Paul Rodriquez and Olympic gold medalist Shawn Johnson.
America's Best Dance Crew host Mario Lopez served as the evening's master of ceremonies for the third time.
