Miley Cyrus will be the subject of a new hour-long documentary premiering on MTV this fall, the network announced at Friday's Television Critics Association's fall TV previews.
The project will follow Cyrus as she works on her highly anticipated fourth studio album — her first since 2010's Can't Be Tamed. The documentary will spotlight her transition from "Disney princess to legitimate artist and fashion icon," MTV's president of programming, Susanne Daniels, said.
Celebrities who've survived scandals
The documentary also comes at a busy time for the former Hannah Montana star personally. Earlier this year, rumors swirled that she had broken off her engagement from Liam Hemsworth. Her parents, Billy Ray Cyrus and Tish Cyrus, just announced this week that they have called off their divorce for the second time.
The project will follow in the footsteps of previous MTV documentaries about Britney Spears and Lady Gaga.
