Miley Cyrus: Hannah Montana Movie May Be the Last
Tween queen Miley Cyrus has no problem being a movie star, but she's just not sure that her Disney alter ego, Hannah Montana, will be making any return trips to the box office.
"We got really lucky with having the material to make one movie," Cyrus told the Associated Press while promoting Hannah Montana: The Movie, which hits theaters April 10. While Cyrus calls the movie "very clever," she thinks the film's resolution makes sequels unlikely.
But that doesn't mean her Disney Channel show is going anywhere. "I don't know if I would do another (Hannah Montana) film, but I would love to do another season," said Cyrus, who has signed on for a third and is interested in a fourth. "That would be what we would all agree on."
Cyrus would rather spend her time on the big screen as other characters. The 16-year-old will spend the summer shooting a film written by The Notebook author Nicolas Sparks called The Last Song. The plot of the movie is unknown, but Sparks says he wrote the screenplay with Cyrus in mind. The starlet said she's looking forward to testing herself as an actress.
"I've always been lucky to play parts that relate to me, and this doesn't at all," Cyrus said. "I have my issues, but not as bad as this chick. So I'm happy to play someone that's just kind of out there and not someone that I'm like."
