A homeless man showed up at the Good Morning America studio Tuesday morning with a knife and threatened to kill Michael Strahan, The New York Post reports.
At approximately 8 a.m., Andrew Johnson, 25, got into an argument with security at the sidewalk set of the series in Times Square. During the altercation, he pulled a knife and said he was there to kill Strahan, who is a part-time co-host on the morning show. A police officer "heroically tackled" Johnson and knocked the serrated knife out of his hand, an ABC News rep said.

"It was a scary situation but thanks to the fast actions of NYPD the situation was quickly under control," the rep said. In fact, the incident was handled so quickly, most of the surrounding audience was not even aware it occurred.
Johnson, who has a number of out-of-state warrants, has been charged with felony attempted assault and menacing, and criminal possession of a weapon. He is being held without bail.
