The search for Christopher Meloni's Law & Order: SVU replacement has narrowed down to five, Deadline reports.
Ice-T inks two-year deal with Law & Order: SVU
David Conrad (Ghost Whisperer), Kevin Alejandro (True Blood, Southland), Michael Raymond-James (Terriers), Danny Pino (Cold Case) and Rhys Coiro (Entourage) are being flown to New York to test opposite Mariska Hargitay on Tuesday.
Perhaps working to their advantage, Alejandro and Raymond-James both guest-starred on SVU within the past year.
Christopher Meloni exits Law & Order: SVU
Meloni left the show last month after contract negotiations fell through. Hargitay will return for the 13th season with a lighter workload. At midseason, her character will be promoted to a supervisor position, during which a new female detective will take her place. Jennifer Love Hewitt — Conrad's Ghost Whisperer wife — was initially being eyed to replace Hargitay, but she is no longer in contention.
