Rep: Melanie Griffith's Black Eye Caused by Cancer Surgery

A rep for Melanie Griffith says the actress had surgery to remove early stages of skin cancer from her face, according to The Associated Press.

The procedure, which left the 52-year-old actress with a black eye, was done early enough to prevent further complications, the rep said.
Griffith was married to Don Johnson (twice) and is currently married to Antonio Banderas, with whom she has a 12-year-old daughter.
Griffith was nominated for an Oscar and won a Golden Globe for her role in Working Girl. She will appear in an episode of Nip/Tuck next year.
