Max Thieriot

Max Thieriot has landed the lead in Roland Emmerich's untitled drama pilot for ABC, Deadline reports.

The project takes place in New York during the 2012 presidential race. During this time, Carter (Thieriot), a young astrophysics student, learns his destiny lies not in the field of science, but somewhere between heaven and hell. Gabriella Wilde (The Three Musketeers) has also been cast as Carter's girlfriend.

Thieriot, who has appeared in the films Nancy Drew and Jumper, can next be seen in House at the End of the Street, which hits theaters in April.

Emmerich (Independence Day, 2012) wrote the script with 2012 screenwriter Harald Kloser and will direct the pilot. He will executive-produce with Mark Gordon (Criminal Minds) and Nicholas Pepper.
