Is Matthew McConaughey Too Skinny?

Matthew McConaughey

Alright, alright, alright — who is going to tell Matthew McConaughey he's lost too much weight?

The Magic Mike actor was photographed Nov. 9 at Los Angeles International Airport looking extremely frail. The weight loss isn't part of some fad diet, but for his role in the upcoming film The Dallas Buyers Club, in which he plays a drug addict in 1980s-era Texas who contracts HIV. The story is based on the real life of Ron Woodruff, who became one of the first AIDS activists and launched one of the first AIDS support groups.

Losing weight for a part is nothing new in Hollywood. Matt Damon famously shed almost 50 pounds for Courage Under Fire in 1995 and Anne Hathaway recently told Vogue she ate two thin squares of dried oatmeal paste a day in order to lose 25 pounds for her role in Les Miserables.

Let's just hope someone is waiting nearby to give McConaughey a Big Mac as soon as the director on the film yells, "Cut! That's a wrap."
