Matthew Broderick is heading to the Beach for a new NBC pilot.
The actor has signed on to star in the network's multicamera sitcom pilot, Beach Lane, according to The Hollywood Reporter. The show, which was green-lit Monday, will star Broderick as a celebrity author hired to run a millionaire's struggling small-town newspaper in the Hamptons.
ABC, NBC pick up pilots
Saturday Night Live and 30 Rock producers Lorne Michaels and Marci Klein will executive-produce Beach Lane. Broderick, who guest-starred on 30 Rock two years ago, was approached to do Beach Lane months ago, but would only commit after reading the final script.
NBC also picked up Perfect Couples, which centers on three couples with different definitions of the perfect relationship.
