Mary Tyler Moore is going under the knife to remove a benign tumor from her brain, People reports.
"At the recommendation of her neurologist, who has been monitoring this for years, and a neurosurgeon, Mary decided to proceed with this fairly routine procedure," a rep told the magazine.

The procedure will remove a meningioma, a benign tumor on the lining tissue of the brain.
Moore, 74, is best known for her sitcom work, first on The Dick Van Dyke Show and then The Mary Tyler Moore Show. She recently made a guest appearance on Hot in Cleveland, reuniting with her Mary Tyler Moore co-star Betty White.
