Mark Wahlberg may play a bigshot tough guy in Contraband, but comments he made suggesting he could have prevented some of the 9/11 tragedy have him apologizing.
"If I was on that plane with my kids, it wouldn't have went down like it did," Wahlberg said in the February issue of Men's Journal. "There would have been a lot of blood in that first-class cabin and then me saying, 'OK, we're going to land somewhere safely, don't worry.'"

Later, he told TMZ, "To speculate about such a situation is ridiculous to begin with. I deeply apologize to the families of the victims that my answer came off as insensitive, it was certainly not my intention."
On Sept. 11, 2001, Wahlberg was actually scheduled to fly on United 93, the plane that was hijacked, but crash-landed early after passengers fought back. The actor had rescheduled, however, and took a flight a week earlier.
