Marion Cotillard gave birth to a son Thursday night in Paris, People.com reports. The child, named Marcel, is Cotillard's first with her actor-director boyfriend Guillaume Canet.

According to People.com's source,9 the mother and child are "fine," and Cotillard is "happy." No word on Marcel's emotional state, but then, that's probably hard to grasp since he's a newborn.
