Mariah Carey has abruptly pulled out of Tyler Perry's new film.

Production on For Colored Girls Who Have Considered Suicide When the Rainbow Is Enuf was scheduled to start next month. Carey's rep did not give a reason for the withdrawal.

"I'm not at liberty to discuss her personal life at this time," Cindi Berger said in a statement. No further comments will be made.

For Colored Girls is based on Ntozake Shange's 1975 play, and will star Anika Noni Rose, Whoopi Goldberg, Janet Jackson, Phylicia Rashad, Kerry Washington, Macy Gray, Loretta Devine, Jurnee Smollett and Isaiah Mustafa (a.k.a. the "I'm on a horse" guy from the Old Spice ads).
