Ryan Kennedy, Mary McDonnell
The Major Crimes family is about to get a little bigger.
Canadian actor Ryan Kennedy (Caprica, Hellcats) has been tapped to play Ricky Raydor, the son of Mary McDonnell's Capt. Sharon Raydor, on the TNT drama, TVGuide.com has learned.
Ricky, who will first appear in this season's ninth episode "Sweet Revenge," is a Stanford grad and software engineer on the verge of his first big payday. However, Ricky comes back home to weigh in on some of his mom's recent personal decisions. Those decisions will undoubtedly involve the recently out-of-the-closet Rusty (Graham Patrick Martin) — and Sharon and Ricky may not see eye to eye.
Major Crimes boss on Rusty's big confession: "It's about him being honest"
"As she moves forward to adopt Rusty — or as the questions appear: 'Should I? Do I want to be [his mother]?' — her already established family weighs in in different ways," creator James Duff told TVGuide.com at the beginning of the season. "How do you include other people? What does the word family mean? Do you have any right to expect that your family will always be exactly what it is?"
Kennedy's other recent TV credits include Longmire and Defiance. Are you excited to meet Raydor's son?
Major Crimes airs Mondays at 9/8c on TNT.
