Exclusive: NBC Imports Australian Host for Summer Reality Show Love in the Wild
NBC has tapped Australian TV personality Darren McMullen to host its new summer "adventure dating" show Love in the Wild.
The show — a mashup of Survivor and The Bachelor, with a little Temptation Island sprinkled on top — follows ten single men and ten single women as they pair up each week to compete in the jungles of Costa Rica. Winning duos will then be sent off to luxurious surroundings in order to get to know each other better (and I think we know what that means).
McMullen is currently the host of the Australian version of Minute to Win It and also hosted several shows there for MTV. He began his career on the Australian car series Ignition. He joins other Australian personalities on U.S. TV, including America's Next Great Restaurant judge Curtis Stone, Food Network's Gordon Elliot and Rove McManus, who hosted ABC's The List.
Endemol USA is the production company behind Love in the Wild, which hasn't been given a firm airdate yet by NBC.
