Loretta Devine seems to have something for medical professionals.
The actress, best known for playing Adele Webber on Grey's Anatomy, has landed a multi-episode arc on USA's new EMT comedy Sirens, TVGuide.com has learned exclusively.
Fall TV 2013: Must-watch new fall shows
From Denis Leary and Bob Fisher (Wedding Crashers), Sirens follows three Chicago EMTs whose self-righteous and self-destructive personalities make them unfit for long-term relationships and most occupations. Johnny (Pan Am alum Michael Mosley) is a good-looking, sports-loving EMT working alongside his best friend Hank (Modern Family's Kevin Daniels). Brian (Game Change's Kevin Bigley) is a wide-eyed, excitable new EMT still living with his folks. And Theresa (The Vow's Jessica McNamee) is a smart female Chicago cop still carrying a torch for her ex Johnny.
Devine will play Hank's no-nonsense, church-going mother for two episodes. Production on Sirens started Wednesday and is set to premiere in early 2014.
An Emmy winner for her work on Grey's, Devine is also known for her roles on The Client List, Boston Public, Eli Stone as well as films like Waiting to Exhale and Crash.
