Liam Neeson will guest-star on Showtime's upcoming series The Big C, the network announced Monday.
The actor will play a character named "Bee Man," who Cathy (Laura Linney) sees about alternative cancer treatments. Neeson joins Cynthia Nixon, Idris Elba and My Boys' Reid Scott as guest stars in the first season.
Cynthia Nixon to take on The Big C with four-episode arc
The Big C follows Cathy, a schoolteacher and suburban mother who tries to rebuild her life after her terminal cancer diagnosis. Oliver Platt plays her husband and Gabourey Sidibe plays one of her students.
The gig marks Neeson's first TV role since a guest spot on The Simpsons in 2005 and reunites him with Linney and Platt. Neeson and Linney have appeared together in Love Actually, Kinsey and The Other Man, and onstage in a revival of The Crucible. Platt also co-starred in Kinsey and worked with Neeson on Gun Shy.
